I'm headed out of the house at 4:30 AM, so this morning it's an inside shot. I didn't bother with another starry night shot, even though it's clear.
This is a kind of Nagovisi arrow called maga, and is meant for fighting. I chose it over the others because it had the most fine detail and interesting textures. Also because there's a sheaf of them in an old milk tin near the front door.
The barbs are made from flying fox wingbones, the wrappings are split vines, and it's all stabilized by a glue made from a large nut, the name of which I can't remember (but it's in my field notes).
