Cinnamon tree. Very large, very old mango in the background.
Not much else to say, except to give you the cinnamon's genus and species: Cinnamomum verum. As is true of the clove trees we have, crushing a leaf and holding it to you nose tells you immediately what kind of tree it is. However, I've never noticed either kind of spice tree producing a scent that the wind could carry. Too bad -- it would be nice. Wind from the Puna side, the house would smell of cloves. Wind from the mountains, it would smell of cinnamon.
