I was fooling around in the Zen garden, thinking about blue jade. There was an interesting very small spray stuck in a crevice in the rock wall that was attractive. It would have been fine for today.
But then I realized that one large spray was positioned such that I could get on top of it, and shoot down. I had to stand on a chair because, what with all the construction, the small ladders were in use inside. I experimented with different depths-of-field. Having only the top few in focus had its charms, but in the end I went with the deepest DOF I could manage.
I also liked the light-colored blossoms and the contrast with the deep purple stems.
